About

The West Toronto Renegades Minor Peewee A 2005 team is part of the Downsview Hockey Club.

The Downsview Hockey Club is proud to announce its 57th year in the community. Over the years their focus continues to be providing fun and safe hockey to the children and young adults involved within their hockey association.

The Downsview Hockey Club provides four levels of hockey which includes:
1) Learn-To-Skate,
2) House League,
3) NYHL Select and,
4) GTHL.

GTHL is the most competitive level the Downsview Hockey Club participates in. There are 4 GTHL Teams: Minor Peewee A (2005), Peewee A (2004), Minor Bantam A (2003)and Bantam A (2002).

The Downsview Select program is comprised of House League players who try-out for the teams.

The House League program is a more relaxed hockey setting. The divisions for this program include Novice (for 6, 7, and 8 years old), Atom (for 9, 10, and 11 years old), Peewee (for 12, 13, and 14 years old), and Bantam (for 15, 16, and 17 years old). The Downsview Hockey Club also provides a Learn-To-Skate program. In this program they teach young children who are just learning to skate the basics of skating and also prepare the children for entrance into their hockey program.

The West Toronto Renegades is a new brand for the Downsview Hockey Club and it is strictly for the GTHL. The brand was created to reflect the military past and present of the Downsview Canadian Forces Base (CFB Toronto). The brand required GTHL approval for naming, colours etc… Downsview has a military past and military names were selected as viable names subject to approval.
